So I got me a new computer today I decided I had enough with a laptop keyboard. and week into Futureshop to get one. After walking out of future shop because the salesperson did not understand the concept of I don’t want that one, or my personal favorite I can afford that $1600 gaming rig and its a bloody acer. So I went into BestBuy the evil owners of Futureshop that are so blatantly American it hurts. It started with me staring and the BestBuy logo embedded into the floor encompassing the globe with Latin around it. I thought evil empire right off the bat then walked to the computer section and tried to find a staff member. After about 30 minutes of wandering around I found a staff person that wasn’t currently staring at a lineup of people. He had just one customer and I recognized him and immediately thought that poor bastard.
I work in retail to my retail is in the horticultural/agricultural/pest control sectors. This customer had a backyard greenhouse and is a very nice guy but the being on the other end of his cell phone on the other hand. I have never met his wife but I have had to talk to her on the phone more than once. She will send him in to a store and he will ask you about 20-30 minutes of questions then phone his wife and have you repeat said questions just so he can show her that he had really checked and asked then if your lucky it would end there. This poor BestBuy employee made it to what I will refer to as stage 3. She had started asking questions that she didn’t tell her husband about than start to inform you of how incapable her husband is than try and get you to agree( NEVER AGREE ). She will than get you to pass the phone to her husband. She than yells at him over the phone in what sounds to me as either Swedish or Icelandic and than he starts asking you the questions that she never told him that you have just finished telling her in an exercise that I would call grinding salt into his current open wound.
There is a stage 5 but that involves her getting out of the car coming into the store and yelling at both the clerk and the husband, who really is a very nice and polite guy. I found them at stage 3 and decided to stand in line behind this gentleman. He immediately noticed and told the salesperson to serve me and went on his merry way after telling me it was nice to see me and he will be stopping by work for some seeds this weekend.(thankfully gardening his wife is not involved in). This caused me to be very high on the salesperson’s list of people at the moment.
I ended up getting 2 really good open item deals on yes and ACER Aspire and 20″ gateway monitor for around $500 which was not a bad deal than he tossed employee discount on that since I got him out of the bind. After I talked him down in price since the PC was missing a footpad on the case and its being a floor model.
So overall I got a great deal on a PC and monitor and a great story to tell also. Yes I’am aware that an Acer is the only PC’s that come in there on coffin.
