Boris beer is a beer that confused me right from the get go even before I opened the can. I saw a guy running across the label waving a red flag with a big ‘B’ on it. I immediately though I haven’t had a Russian beer in a long time because the name ‘Boris’ and the symbolism of the red flag just got me thinking Russian. Well I was wrong Boris beer is actually French but the can I have is brewed in Quebec. The website even had me thinking Russian revolution with the overtones of red and the usages of the phrases propaganda and dissidence. The marketing is a gem in itself.Boris is a Lager its 5.5% alcohol and has a nice flavor a bit hoppy I found but it could just be me. It’s a good sit down and have a drink with a friend beer not a go out and get plastered on 5% water beer. It is something that is to be enjoyed.
