Royalty

Ok I’ve been hearing people asking what’s the big deal about Prince Charles and Camilla being hear in Canada and why was he important and at the Remembrance Day ceremonies in Ottawa. Come On people really. Do I really have to explain this.

First off Prince Charles is the Heir Apparent to the Queen of England, Commonwealth and Hello CANADA. Yes Charles is going to be King of Canada and the Commonwealth we are a constitutional monarchy. Canada has always had strong ties to the throne and sadly people are forgetting this a lot or feel that we should’nt be. Its not a bad thing it is a tradition that is a large part of our heritage it helps define Canadians as a nation. I’am not saying that it is the only thing that does but it is a big part whether we recognize it or not. everything from the Rideau Canal to the Changing of the Guard to RCMP has had the Crown’s and England’s hand in its inception.

Second Reason Prince Charles was at the Remeberance Day ceremony is that he is a veteran of the RAF and of the Royal Navy. He was a qualified combat pilot. Qualifying for the Harrier, F-4 Phantom, and several other aircraft and copters including a Spitfire, He also commanded a ship during his time in the Navy.

I actually heard someone in the grocery store talking to someone else saying that he shouldn’t have been at the ceremony since he was only given a commission due to Royalty.

He had a right to be there just like anyone else has a right to remember the sacrifices made by otheres. regardless of there birth of nationality.

Cheers

Tyler
