Beyond The Pale: Pink Fuzz

I had this at the Smoque Shack at 127 york st. Ottawa. I’am gonna start off with the fact that this beer was tasty. Tasty may not sound like alot of praise but it is just below rays of light parting the heavens upon the first sip. At the time I didn’t know the name just the brewery I had to look it up the next day but for a beer to make me want to look it up the next day is pretty good.

Beyond the Pale is a craft brewer in the Hintonburg neighbourhood of Ottawa, Ontario. It started in 2012 by three local guys all born and raised in the Hintoburg area. They brew using local products in an old 400L brewery system. They offer tours and welcome visitors to the brewery on 5 Hamilton Street, Ottawa, Ontario.

The beer is a grapefruit wheat beer(yes grapefruit) the first taste that I got from it was citrus but it was not overly strong. It had a very smooth beginning with the taste of citrus that was balance and not overly bitter. It had a nice finish and very little aftertaste.

Country: Canada

Type: I’am going with a Bavarian Wheat

Alcohol: 6%

Rating: 8/10
